Addiction is not only physical and social affliction but a spiritual one too. It is an illness too. If the clinical techniques employed in dealing with it are combined with programs which are faith-based, then positive results will be realized within a short duration. Christian alcohol treatment centers realize that for complete soul, mind and body healing, one needs the help of Christ.

The professionals working at the center have to be qualified and licensed. The multi-disciplinary team includes physicians, nurses, psychiatrists, counselors and many more. The journey to recovery is faced with many ordeals. It requires patience and hard work. Interacting with people with the same problems gives you hope. However, this should be done with consideration of Christian values.

These centers do not discriminate when admitting alcoholics. They include adult males and female whether married or not, single parents, unwed mothers and even the whole family. The primary goal is to assist the individuals develop better coping mechanisms as they deal with daily realities and also circumstances and problems in life. The bible is used as the ultimate authority and foundation in the teachings.

The educational and training programs are of various types and touch on leadership at the church and home and sometimes vocational employment. The environment is conducive to help people with various dysfunctions in life to acquire basic and also family skills. The environment at the center is set in such a way that it is just like that at home so that the one will not feel like he or she is in a hospital.

In treatment, focus on Christ-centered recovery process is combined with traditional therapy. The program involves bible study, participation in faith based support groups and visits to churches in the local region. The good thing is you will be together with other people who are interested in practicing Christian principles and values in the recovery process.

The aim is to make the individual realize that he or she can stay away from alcohol completely. As they are encouraged to move towards staying clean, some people who have successfully gone through the programs may be invited to boost their confidence that they can also achieve the same. The environment should assist the individual to heal too. That is why it is important for it to be conducive.

The initial thing the addicts are taken through is detoxification process. This way, the toxins which have accumulated in the body are done away with. This is followed by sessions to stimulate the mind. If this is carried out the proper way, the individual will develop a sense of well-being and believe that it is possible to go on with life normally without taking alcohol.

At the end, one should have developed appropriate skills to be used in avoidance of circumstance which can result to taking of alcohol because of impulsive actions. There is also an outpatient residential program which is meant to offer continuity of care even after the individual leaves the center. Collaborations are made with the local clergy to offer counseling to the individual in case the need arises. This keeps him or her focused on living a Christian life .
