If left unattended for an extended period of time, it may end up causing additional issues. As the stress in, and strain on the muscles and tendons built is can start to affect other areas of one's body as well. When other therapies have failed, certified Long Island Active Release Technique administrators might have a solution.

A patented massage therapy, ART is a highly specialized approach meant to attend soft tissue conditions that have not responded to other methods. It was formulated in the eighties and in 1991 it began being taught within the industry. Many chiropractic offices have at least one doctor who is attended required training and is authorized to perform this care system.

This hands-on application is similar to, but different from other massage therapies. It is typically used when the more common forms of care have not provided satisfactory results for issues involving muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia and nerves. The focus is on attending patients with postoperative issues and repetitive strain injuries from acute, chronic issues from overusing certain tissues.

The primary purpose of ART is to help patients regain motion, texture and functioning of the soft tissue. It also aims to release and nerves and blood vessels that have become trapped or pinched. Fibrous adhesion can impede the proper movement interaction between muscles and fascia, so these obstacles must also be removed.

This approach is able to assist with a variety of conditions. These include joint related inflammatory disorders, whiplash, shin splints, TMJ, headaches, sciatica, tendinitis, back and spinal pains, and carpal tunnel syndrome. It is also capable of addressing painful restrictions caused by scar tissue accumulation as a result of surgery and strain from muscle overuse.

It may take a few sessions to find total relief, but most people do fell less numbing, tingling and pain, while experiencing an increase in strength and range of motion after their first application. Following through with any recommended stretches, exercises and lifestyle changes limits the chances the trouble will return. Because of the specificity in the approach, the results are fairly predictable.
