Over the past years, yoga has grown in popularity amongst different people. It has increased in popularity mostly among women who want to do away with excess fatty materials that accumulate in their bodies giving them irregular shapes. Thanks to it they can now easily get rid of these fats. The art began in India way back. Recently this art has emerged the most pronounced form of exercising in the United States and the whole world at large. Houston yoga popularity amongst people living in Houston has also significantly increased over the years.



The benefits of yoga are endless. Ranging from physical to health benefits. To begin with, it increases flexibility to people who practice it. This is due to the fact that this exercises require people to assume positions that stretch their various muscles. By stretching, the muscles become flexible and in turn making a person flexible too. This makes one to have an increased muscle strength due to their flexibility.



Secondly, it is believed to improve a persons general performance in athletics and in other sporting activities. This can be attributed to the fact that ones muscles becomes more strong and flexible due to continued exercises. Sportsmen practicing it outside the pitch are considered to be the best.



Recent research has indicated that this art is able to improve the health of a person heart and blood circulation. This can be attributed to the fact that more blood is able to be pumped in and out of the heart during these exercises. Heart experts have always associated heart failures to lack of adequate blood supply and circulation in and outside the heart.



It also improves a person metabolism. Metabolism can simply be understood as the processes of digestion and consequent transport of substances into and between different cells inside the body. Digestion and transport of food substances in the body requires energy. People who practice the art are more likely to have better metabolism compared to those that do not practice it. This is due to the fact that more energy is available for food digestion and transportation.



It is also believed to improve the way a person manages stress. Stress is a condition whereby people experience random changes in moods such that their mood may change from happy to sad very easily. They also have a tendency of experiencing frequent headaches, enable to get sleep among other complications. Stressed people may resolve to drug abuse.



It also improves the brain abilities of people. For a brain to function properly, it requires enough oxygen supplies and yoga ensures this. Most mental complications are caused by lack of enough oxygen supplies to the brain. Thanks to this art one is able to overcome such complications.



Yoga is believed to unite ones mind to the body and the spirit. In Houston, most of the people who practice yoga lead relatively better lives in relation to body flexibility, mental well-being and when it comes to issues concerning meditation compared to those people who do not practice these exercises.
