It took me a very long time to realize the seriousness of the concept of quality over quantity. Maybe that it is the society we are living in where typically more is better and getting free stuff is a tasty offer. It isn't difficult to get wrapped up in going for the cheapest thing on the table because it's often the quickest thing to get. Thing is, this doesn't challenge you. I am absolutely a firm disciple of the indisputable fact that there are things, people and goals that can only ever be reached when you grow into them. When you are going for the cheap stuff, you are not cooked yet. The day you can really look yourself in the face and tell yourself that you maybe aren't yet built to achieve something is a very grounding, fair, and yet above all...inspiring day.

I believe the great majority of people are disappointed in life not because they aim far too high and miss, but because they focus too low and hit.

You need to be willing to make sacrifices for your own greater good.

You have got to be pleased to put your name on the board, write a goal with it, and give it everything you have.

And here's the kicker, you've got to be truly willing to elevate yourself at least 1% each and every day in order to turn yourself into something amazing.

It's amazing the disconnect that happens when people search for happiness. What's interesting however, is when you don't seek it...it actually comes to you. I did not search for contentment completely. I actually did not attempt to be really happy at all. However, I didn't take any part in the everyday "just be happy" rubbish either. What I did was work on improving upon myself, doing the things that I knew would make me a better person, and when it was right... I let real happiness find me.

There's so much out there about being happy... but I suspect anything, especially when it's involved around an emotion, when tried at too hard can essentially turn out to be a tragedy or totally inauthentic. I think, long-term, making incremental changes and improvements to yourself and letting actual happiness find you because you are being the best version of yourself will deliver you larger joy in the end.

The bedrock of your greatest self is most definitely going to be built on sacrifice. Are you really willing to do the things today that others do not ever do? Are you willing to do the things that you know you are capable of but are really tough? It's hard to look yourself in the face occasionally and say "I am going to compete with my potential today. "

There's actually no such thing as certainty. It's all uncertain in reality.

In fact, uncertainty is very helpful however. When you live in a world brim-full of uncertainty, you give yourself the chance to live in full probability and be deeply happy. Those two come side by side. When you really begin to try and separate yourself from uncertainty by proscribing what your future is going to seem like, that's truly when you can really begin to get into a pinch of trouble. As thrilling as that may be to do, you become out of touch with true reality of things and distance yourself from individuals that are here at this time. There's nothing worse than living in some place that you can't actually go to, and hence, missing all that's going down at this time.

That is my story.

Living in the future and neglecting the present.

Not that it was a distressing thing all of the time, although it was out of alignment with the deep underlying sense of needing connection with others. I knew that I required that connection, so I had to begin making some changes. I suspect the balance of where dreams and goals lie with someone who has great ambitions is they must really appreciate what they have now, be the person who they see in the future at the moment, and learn for a fact that the future is only going to be a full illustration of deep loving purpose of what is going on in their life right this moment.

My problem was that I looked at the future as a location where it might all turn out and everything would be OK. Wrong. You have to be O.K with what is happening today. When you can actually live in the moment and let the uncertainty of the future handle itself, happiness creeps in.

Learn to link into this moment and appreciate it for what it is. That's all we're able to do right?

Uncertainty is the name of the game.
