Lets face it. There are moments in our lives when we feel like we are not doing anything good to make our situations better. Its like continually struggling against the strong current of the river to make sure we do not drown. The current represents all of our lifes struggles. And unless we take a momentary stop and examine what causes the commotion, we may find ourselves drowning sooner than later.



Even if we prepare and plan, the end result is not ours to decide. If God does not want us to be there, then we will never be there. Its all a matter of doing the things that we think is good and then trusting the Creator to handle the rest. My spiritual life journey is marked with ups and downs. But if you have solid trust to the Author of our lives, everything will turn out as it should be.



You have to be aware though that the journey will not be that easy. It can be challenging and can take time before you master it. But if you are serious about it, then devoting your time will be worth it. Below are effective methods that you can use to help you develop your spiritual strength even more.



Daily journaling. Get a notebook and write all the good things that happened to you on that day. You can call it a diary, a keepsake or anything you want. What matters is, you write down things that has transpired within the day regardless of how simple it could be. This will not only make you appreciate that great day that you have but will also help you realize what you did wrong and how can you make it better.



Spending minutes in silence. There is no substitute to silence when it comes to communicating with God. It is a necessity. It is only through silence that you get to hear what He has to say. With the amount of noise we experience everyday, finding a silent place and time can be difficult. But if you practice it, the rewards can be great.



Offering daily thanksgiving. Complaining is a waste of energy. It gives you bad vibes which can ultimately affect the quality of work that you do within the day. You have since noticed that you tend to lack that ability to be in the moment. When life hands you situations, you tend to not really be truly present. You seem to either feel like a spectator as things are happening or you feel as if your thoughts are not really there. You seem to be always somewhere else.



There are many ways that a person can achieve a more aware state of mind. Many would actually choose to employ such techniques as mindfulness training. Do understand that this does not have to be rocket science. Employing some little changes to your every day habits would actually pay off big time along the way.



Understand that you do not necessarily have to undergo a formal training to achieve the results that you are hoping for. This is more on being able to make the right adjustments to the way you are doing things wrong. Then, ensuring too, that you get these cages embedded in the way you live life every day.



You would be surprised about how easy it often is to introduce these changes to the way you're living your life, you would be pleased to now that you don't necessarily have to do major adjustments to get them added to the way you deal with life. Often, it's the many little things that you change here ad there that will count.



Simple things like eating consciously for starters would mean a lot in the long run, you need food to keep your body energized and nourished. Hence, it has to be an experience that you must savor and not actually rushed through, be conscious of what you are eating, of its flavors, its textures.

You can also practice your mindfulness whenever your emotions are on the rise. Always be kind. You cannot really expect to be mindful of the things that are going on around you or the people that are present around you when you are not even willing to be kind to them. Learn to listen, really listen. Avoid being in a conversation where you are only there to respond. If you want to be really in the moment, then make sure that you really understood what is being said to you.



Avoid multitasking. Sure, you might think that you are actually accomplishing a lot of things at the same time, but it has been proven time and again, that this is not the case. Uni-task. This allows you to focus and give your one hundred percent to what you are doing. Then, you get more than satisfactory results.

Is horror your favorite movie genre? There are so many horror titles in the market that are great thrillers. Hollywood has really pushed us to the edge by delivering nerve cracking horror titles at their best. To those who love a shot of daily dread, lets us look at The Exorcist, a horrific movie that has shone over years.



The American horror movie released in 1973 was an adaptation from Peter Blatty novel that had been released in 1971 by the same title. The novel traces its roots from a case in which Ronald Doe was exhorted of a demon in 1949. The film builds its story around a mother who tries all she can to bring her teen daughter back to normalcy after being possessed by a demon with assistance from two priests who perform the exorcism.



The movie was released in December 1973 by Warner Bros and went on to earn ten academy award nominations. It indeed won the best sound mixing and best adapted screenplay categories. It was named the scariest film of all time in United Kingdom and USA.



The film starts where a catholic priest who goes by the name Lankester Merrin who is seen excavating an archeological site in Iraq. He stumbles across an amulet that resembles a statute of a demon called Pazuzu. He had defeated the demon and banished him a few years back. He gets to know that the demon has come back to avenge his banishing.



At the same time, a famous actress by the name Chris Mac Neil is seen in her Washington D. C home playing Ouija board with his pre-teen daughter who goes by the name Regan. Soon after playing the keyboard, Regan begins strange actions, and makes mysterious noises in the room. She also uses foul language and exhibits abnormal strength. She goes on to cause her bed to shake, much to the dismay of her family.



Chris tries to help her daughter by taking her to the hospital. The doctors perform a series of tests on Regan without detecting a problem. They are not aware that the demon has possessed her. As days go by Regan kills the babysitter, and the acting director called Burke Dennings at night. The police step in with a detective called Kinderman taking over the case. His first two interviewees are Regan mother and a priest called Karras. Karras had lost his faith in Christianity after the mother died.



Doctors conclude that Regan is demon possessed and can only be cured by exorcism. This new information prompts Chris to seek help from the backsliden priest, Karras. Karras at first refuses to perform exorcism but later changes mind when he finds writing on Regans stomach asking for help and listens to a recording where she talks in reverse. Merrin, the priest joins in.



The two priests are unable to exorcise the demon. It mocks them in the process even abusing Karras dead mother. Karras leaves after sometime. Merrin is left to deal with the demon. However, after some time Karras comes in only to find Merrin dead. He pleads with the demon to leave Regan and enter him instead. He sacrifices his life by jumping over a window and dying out of head injuries. This banishes Pazuzu from earth. Regan feels better after sometime and returns home. Kinderman, befriends her to help unveil why Karras died. This is a real thriller.

During the eighteen nineties a well known Indian philosopher, Swami Vivekananda, toured the western world. A person suffers from various conditions. Not all of these are known to be physical. Most of the time, the most dangerous conditions are those that stem from the psychological aspect.
